Rubix Cutting & Machining to hold March Smart Manufacturing Event

Cutting tool, workholding equipment and associated shop floor products specialist Rubix Cutting & Machining will hold an Open House and Smart Manufacturing Event at its Sandiacre Product Proving Centre on 18th and 19th March 2026, from 9.00 am until 4.00 pm on both days. For performing live demonstrations of the innovative production solutions that Rubix provides, the facility in Sandiacre operates three Hurco machine tool platforms. They are a pair of vertical machining centres, a 5-axis VMX42Ui and a 3-axis VMX30Ti, plus a TMX8MYSi multi-axis, driven-tool lathe with a Y-axis turret and sub-spindle. In addition to cutting tool suppliers within the Rubix Group of companies, Matrix, PCS and WCT, other major brands featured will be Walter Tools, LANG Technik and Open Mind.
The Rubix division in Sandiacre was created to combine the company’s cutting tool portfolio with technical consultancy provided by expert, time-served engineers. Metalcutting demonstrations conducted throughout the event will include high speed slotting, roughing and finishing in titanium and aluminium. The Hurco CNC machining centres and lathes are ideal vehicles to help demonstrate the range of Rubix products and services available, which includes the manufacture of special tooling and regrind services. Parking at the site is free and catering will be provided throughout the event.
